MORE CONTEXT ON THE ROLE
GlobalOrange Tech Team (GoTT)We will set a high quality standard for architecture and engineering at GlobalOrange and thus for our customers as measured by the following key results:
Purpose
The purpose of the GoTT is to support the business in winning contracts (supporting business development) and delivering high quality solutions that support continuing business by setting and continuously improving quality standards within GO and our implementation partners. This includes best practices on data protection and security.Furthermore, the team is expected to spearhead standardized solutions (blueprint) that GO can leverage for speeding up development or, where possible, license to customers for additional revenue streams.
Team composition & skill distribution
Since GO delivers products covering the full range in a stack (architecture, infra, backend, frontends, apps), the team composition needs to reflect this. The team needs to be highly skilled in all areas (incl. Multiple areas of business/products), as well as diverse to ensure various viewpoints contributing to great solutions. Following the one-is-none rule, all skills need to be vested in more than one person. Giving the purpose of the team, having people with expertise in their respective verticals is key. In addition, people need to have had experience with at least one other vertical in the stack, more is a plus. Senior Roles:
The team will have to consist of senior developers with a development/architecture profile. At a later stage, mediors can be added as a development path and to speed up (internal) development.
Team building & quality
The team itself will be responsible for setting, owning and growing a set of quality strategies, approved by CTO/MT. Quality strategies include but are not limited to best practices for measuring product, code and team quality. The team is involved in hiring key contributors for projects. The team is encouraged to further develop their skills and knowledge on the job and externally. The ambition is for the team (for those members who appreciate it) to also gain external visibility through e.g. speakerships or blogging.
Work
Team members are expected to work at least 70% of their time on billable projects for customers. The remaining time will be split between internal tasks (<10%) such as hiring and the remaining time on development of blueprints and licensable solutions. It is expected that development of blueprints will have an overlap and symbiotic relationship with customer projects. The team will be responsible (in collaboration with PM/MT) for delivering the roadmap for GlobalOrange’s SaaS Blueprints and its implementations.
