Lead Software Engineer Permanent

At our client you will be leading a remote team of developers, front-end and back-end, and will be responsible for delivering updates and new features to the software systems. Their office is in Rotterdam on the 49th floor with an amazing view over the city. 

What you’ll be doing

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Software Engineer to join their team in building an automated trading platform for cryptocurrencies. You will be leading the development of the automated trading platform, ensuring that it meets the company’s specifications and industry standards. 

You will also be responsible for:

• Managing and mentoring a team of developers, setting project goals, and ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard, 
• Designing and implementing back-end microservices solutions to manage our growing trading platform, 
• Ensuring the platform is scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Improving engineering excellence by producing best practices of code, documentation, testing, and monitoring

Besides this you will be collaborating with the product and design teams to understand the requirements of the platform and ensure that all features are implemented correctly. You will also work closely with the QA team to resolve bugs and ensure the platform is operating efficiently. 

Of course, they expect you to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the crypto trading industry and incorporate them into the platform where appropriate.

For compensation, our client offers:

• €6.500 – €8.000 gross p/m (depending on knowledge and experience)

Requirements for this role

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on building scalable microservice architecture and API.
• Strong proficiency in programming language C# and TDD (Test driven development).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g. Apache Cassandra)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
• Excellent leadership and project management skills, with experience leading and mentoring teams of developers.
• Strong understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and automated trading systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Excellent communication skills in English and a strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of cryptography and cybersecurity is a plus.
